It is wonderful how many dairy free alternatives there are out there today to cow’s milk, but it can be quite overwhelming when trying to decide which one to buy or make. There’s soy, coconut, rice, almond, macadamia, cashew, hemp… and that’s not even considering variations of these!

Continuing with the pattern of self sufficiency that we value so highly here at Paradise One, we make our own plant milk. This ensures that our milk is sustainably produced, organic, affordable and free of unwanted chemicals, preservatives and flavourings. We have created our own unique recipe for a delicious soy coco rice milk that satisfies everyone’s taste buds. To efficiently produce wonderfully smooth plant milk every time, we use a plant milk maker. Using a plant milk maker saves lots of time as you can quickly set it up and then leave it to cook without monitoring it. This allows you to skip the timely process of soaking, blending, straining and cooking. Check out our recipe below.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup soy beans
  • 1 tbsp brown rice
  • 1/2 cup rice bran oil
  • 1.7 litres of filtered water

Method:

  1. Add the coconut, soy beans and rice to the filter cup.
  2. Pour the water and rice bran oil into the plant milk maker.
  3. Start the machine, come back in 30 minutes and your soy coco rice milk will be ready. Let it cool in a jug or glass jar in the fridge before using, or alternatively use it immediately to make a warm drink.
